Are there times your child asks for something you just know isn’t going to happen? There are times we asked our parents those same types of questions and No was a reasonable response. BEFORE SAYING NO, ASK. Ask your child if they can address what is going to lead to your No. If they can’t take away your concern–then say No. By asking questions, you listen and share with your child why something may not be okay. You show respect for them and invite them into the reasoning.
